Journey to the Gampola area takes approximately 90 minutes.
⛰️ Ascent & Parking (9:30 AM – 10:00 AM)
Arrive in Gampola town. Final stretch is very steep—requires a high-clearance vehicle or tuk-tuk.
🗼 Ambuluwawa Summit Exploration (10:00 AM – 12:30 PM)
2.5 hours at the complex. Climb the Summit Tower, explore the Biodiversity Park, and visit multi-religious shrines.
🍛 Descent & Lunch Break (12:30 PM – 2:00 PM)
Descend the hill and stop in Gampola town or a scenic spot for lunch.
↩️ Return Journey to Kandy (2:00 PM – 5:30 PM)
The journey back to Kandy, arriving in the mid-to-late afternoon.

Logistics and Preparation Checklist

  • ⛰️**Final Ascent:** The road is extremely steep. **Must hire a local tuk-tuk or 4×4** from Gampola town.

  • ☀️**Attire:** Wear layers, a hat, and carry plenty of water. Best visibility is usually before 11 AM.
